CRUZAN Restaurant in Humble Tx

I have been in the states going on 10 yrs now. Of the 10 years, I have been back home to St. Croix, USVI one time! I know, I know...

I have been blessed by people here in Humble, Texas who know how to make certain foods like Roti, double and calaloo.

Recently a restaurant opened close to me called, Anani's Caribbean Creations. The owner is from St. Croix! Yep, here in Humble, Texas. I now have Pate, Johnny Cake, Ox Tail, Roti, Fungi and my malt drinks. The owners name is: Sheryl James, a wonderful Christian lady.

Here is an article: Anani's Caribbean Creations

Brazillian Steak Houses

I am a little too excited about these restaurants that I had to make a post about them. We have been fortunate enough to eat at these places several times. The first place we went to is called Guri Do Sul.

Their house special meat:

The next place we have gone to is Tradicao:

This place is very similar to Guri Do Sul. Great side dishes (Fried Bananas!)
If you get a chance and you are in the Woodlands, or by the Sharps Town mall, check out one of these places.

6th appointment

I’m 26 weeks now and just had another check-up.  I’m feeling great (besides being tired) and Brooke and I continue to grow!  I still don’t know how big Brooke is right now, but her kicks are getting stronger so that’s a good sign.  Her heartbeat was 152bpm.  The doctor said he was pleased with my progress.  I go back on July 6th for another check up and glucose test and hopefully at the next appointment we will get another ultrasound!

Love,

Brooke and her Mommy!

The best husband ever...

Yesterday, after a long day of being tired and feeling really pregnant, I just wanted to come home and relax. I’ve gained about 17 pounds so far, so a lot of my clothes don’t fit! I’ve been wearing my maternity jeans a lot (love them – thanks Michelle!), but sometimes I want to wear something more comfortable if I need to run out to the store or something. So, after I got home from work I walked into our room to find a jump suit outfit that Casey just bought me! How sweet is that??? And right next to that was the cutest outfit for Brooke! It was a plaid skirt with a Winnie the Pooh shirt that said “I picked a daisy for you”! How perfect is that??? Oh, and he also had a bottle of Tums on my nightstand since I keep getting heartburn. Wow!!!

I send Casey to the store to get cat litter and tell him he has to change Daisy’s litter box (I can’t while I’m pregnant) and he does it and buys presents for his wife and daughter!!! Yep, I’d say that he is a wonderful husband!

I love you, Casey!!!

Stem Cells

Steph and I have been thinking about keeping the Stem Cells from baby Brooke's cord blood. There has been lots of research done on Stem Cells and the effect on Multiple Sclerosis. There has not been anything approved for market but they are moving forward.

We will probably have Brooke's saved for Steph in the case they find some way to use the Stem Cells on Steph.

Playing with Brooke!

I’m just sitting here at work watching my stomach as Brooke kicks!  After she kicks I poke my stomach a few times and she kicks back!  That’s just so cool!!!

5th Appointment

I just got back a little while ago from the doctor’s office. This was just a regular appointment (no ultrasound). But, I still love going because I get to at least hear Brooke’s heartbeat! Becky, the nurse, was having a little trouble for a second finding the heartbeat, but then it came in strong at 150 bpm. I don’t think Brooke likes going to the doctor because just like last time she kept trying to hide. I told the doctor about a few of the things I’ve been feeling (pain in my side, Braxton Hicks contractions and being so tired), but he said all that is normal and there’s not anything to do about them. Besides those few things, I feel absolutely great! I love being pregnant and feeling Brooke move all around, which she’s doing now! Dr. Kirshon said he wants to start seeing me every 2 weeks so my next appointment is on June 16th. He said it’s just because I’m high risk since I have MS. Having my appointments only 2 weeks apart now is just a reminder that it’s getting close to Brooke getting here!

Love,

Brooke’s Mommy!
